Grandmothers play an essential role in children's lives. In all cultures they teach how to love unconditionally and how to support others with kindness. They help children learn about the world.
Every two-page spread shows a different grandmother and grandchild. Additionally, since our grandchildren name us, the grandmothers often have different names such as Nana, Grammie, and so forth. There are names and customs from various backgrounds so children can see how people relate to one another in different ways.
Grandmothers enjoy being with their grandchildren. Grandchildren enjoy time spent with their grandmothers. They both have fun doing things together.
Grandmothers help children become emotionally strong adults. The memories made with a grandmother and the lessons learned from them last a lifetime.
This book is a tribute to all women lucky enough to be a grandmother.

Years ago, we had a baby shower for one of our coworkers who was about to become a grandma for the first time. We all contributed to buying a portable stroller and then we each bought a gift that would stay at Grandma and Grandpa’s house to help the new parents, so they did not have to fill up the car every time they came for a visit with baby stuff. We got extra pacifiers, and the usual diaper bag stuff like diapers, and wipes. All to be kept on hand at Grandma’s house. This book would have been so much fun to give as a gift at that party. The illustrations are wonderful and encourage children to try and do new things. And to add to the delight, the grandchild must visit Grandma to share this special book at grandma’s house with Grandma. I wish it was available back then. But it will now definitely become part of the gift I give to my friends now that more of them are becoming first time Grandmas.
I Love My Grandma by Kelly Reddin is a delightful children’s picture book that beautifully captures the special bond between grandchildren and their grandmothers. Through vibrant illustrations and sweet, engaging text, the story offers young readers a chance to explore the warmth, comfort, and joy that grandmas bring to their lives.
I Love My Grandma is a sweet book that celebrates every type of grandmother. The illustrations are cute and bring the story to life for young readers. A must for every family's bookshelf!
Whether she's Grandma Mom, Nana or Mimi she's always looking out for us. This is a sweet book that reflects on what our grandmothers mean to us.
Have you ever seen a children's book and just known you would like it? That's how I felt before I even opened I LOVE MY GRANDMA A Celebration of Grandmothers by written by Kelly Reddin and illustrated by Sommer J. Buyante. The cover and the name just felt so attractive to me. I was drawn to it.
I'm Grammy to my little one year old grandson, B. Oh, the things we'll do as he grows! This book shares so many wonderful names for grandmas and so many wonderful things that grandmas do with their grandchildren. It's full of great ideas if you're looking for some. ~wink~ I'll be implementing some.
What I love about Kelly Reddin's book is that it's just filled with the love of family. It shows how Grandmas can be very different for each other, but just perfect for their own grandchildren. It highlights the wonderful things that children can learn from their Oma, Nonna, Grandma, Lola, Gram....
The illustractions fit the feel of this book perfectly. Sommer J. Buyante brought meaning and life to the text. The colors and scenes are calm and relaxing. I know inclusivity is important these days. There are all kinds of grandmas in this book. They're all wonderful.
When you read this book, I believe that you're just going to feel good. I did.
