5 Stars: This is a lovely book celebrating grandmothers and their relationship with their grandchildren. Rather than being a book that has a story from the beginning to end, it has several short two page reflections from the perspective of a child saying that they love their grandmother and what they do together that makes their relationship special. Diverse cultures and abilities are represented and each child has a different term that they use for their grandmother. The illustrations beautifully fit with the stories and also contribute to showing the cultural diversity.

This would be a great book for grandmothers to read with their grandchildren and then they could chat and discuss what makes their relationship special. It would also be good for parents/carers to read with their children and reflect on their grandmothers. As a picture book, it would be suitable for children from about age 3 to 6 years old. If there’s a grandfather in the child’s life, hopefully you can find an equivalent book to celebrate him too!

5 Stars: I Love My Grandma is such a cute and engaging book! I especially loved the multicultural representation and the way it shows that grandmothers can have all kinds of jobs, hobbies, and interests. Sharing those interests and experiences with their grandchildren is such a wonderful way to build a strong bond. A sweet book with a great message about family, connection, and celebrating what makes each person unique.

5 Stars: Thank you, NetGalley, for this ARC! This is the sweetest book! Very wholesome and culturally diverse, but something that a conservative would also 100% love to read. I especially liked the parts featuring the (Italian) Nonna with many brothers and sisters (as a Catholic, I think that was a subtle nod, haha) and the (German) Oma (who loves hot dogs and being an American). I loved that the different names for "grandma" from different cultures were named. The illustrations are a cross between "Love You Forever" and some Asian-style artwork. A really beautiful book and a future classic!

5 Stars: I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley. These thoughts and opinions are completely my own.
When my 3-year-old was asked what he thought of the book, he said "The grandma book is so nice."
This story was about the different names grandma's go by and the fun memories and experiences grandma's and kids can have together. I enjoyed the art and loved seeing the different names other grandma's go by.
No language. No spice, obviously.

4 Stars: I Love My Grandma is a beautiful tribute honoring grandmothers. This story shows children different nicknames for grandmothers. The illustrations show grandmothers from different cultures, different age groups, different abilities and different physical conditions. It shows children, young and older, with their grandmothers who are teaching them wisdom while doing activities with them.
The story is a wonderful book dedicated to grandmothers and the importance of them in learning things from them and making special memories with them.

5 Stars: I smiled the entire time I was reading this. There is so much representation, not only with the families, but with what they grandmothers do - swim, fly planes, garden, etc.
I adored this book and will be telling my mom to get it for my niece.

5 Stars: What a lovely fun and light-hearted read. I love the author's idea of explaining the importance of grandmother in our lives. Their teachings, and valuable life lessons were meticulously highlighted. One thing I observed on how people from different cultures address their grandmothers in their own language. the book is beautifully illustrated. Also, it's nostalgic as it takes readers down the memory lane cherishing all the lovely memories thy share with their grandmothers. Truly heartfelt and lucidly written.

Years ago, we had a baby shower for one of our coworkers who was about to become a grandma for the first time. We all contributed to buying a portable stroller and then we each bought a gift that would stay at Grandma and Grandpa’s house to help the new parents, so they did not have to fill up the car every time they came for a visit with baby stuff. We got extra pacifiers, and the usual diaper bag stuff like diapers, and wipes. All to be kept on hand at Grandma’s house. This book would have been so much fun to give as a gift at that party. The illustrations are wonderful and encourage children to try and do new things. And to add to the delight, the grandchild must visit Grandma to share this special book at grandma’s house with Grandma. I wish it was available back then. But it will now definitely become part of the gift I give to my friends now that more of them are becoming first time Grandmas.

Have you ever seen a children's book and just known you would like it? That's how I felt before I even opened I LOVE MY GRANDMA A Celebration of Grandmothers by written by Kelly Reddin and illustrated by Sommer J. Buyante. The cover and the name just felt so attractive to me. I was drawn to it.

I'm Grammy to my little one year old grandson, B. Oh, the things we'll do as he grows! This book shares so many wonderful names for grandmas and so many wonderful things that grandmas do with their grandchildren. It's full of great ideas if you're looking for some. ~wink~ I'll be implementing some.

What I love about Kelly Reddin's book is that it's just filled with the love of family. It shows how Grandmas can be very different for each other, but just perfect for their own grandchildren. It highlights the wonderful things that children can learn from their Oma, Nonna, Grandma, Lola, Gram....
The illustrations fit the feel of this book perfectly. Sommer J. Buyante brought meaning and life to the text. The colors and scenes are calm and relaxing. I know inclusivity is important these days. There are all kinds of grandmas in this book. They're all wonderful.
When you read this book, I believe that you're just going to feel good. I did.
